We respect the privacy and confidentiality of the information provided by our members and website visitors, and adhere to the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The APPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information.

How your personal information is collected

All personal information collected is obtained directly from you when you:

– Subscribe to a newsletter
– Submit information (which sets a cookie)
– Comment on the blog
– Send a message via the website’s contact forms
– Use the online booking system or complete an online event form
– Use our online store

If you leave a comment on the blog, this website collects the data shown in the comments form, its metadata, the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection and these are retained indefinitely. How long we retain your personal information

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

We use all reasonable means to protect the confidentiality of our members’ Personal Data. All digital information received from you is stored and protected on our secure servers. All paper records of your Personal Data are securely stored within our Club’s secure files. We take all possible steps to protect your personal information against loss or theft, as well as unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.

Credit card information is encrypted before transmission and is not kept or stored on the online servers, nor do we store or keep it in any other format.

We will only retain your personal information for as long as it is needed to provide services to you, and to comply with the legal obligations of the Club, and/or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

In the event there is a breach of security and your Personal Data is compromised, we will promptly notify you in compliance with the applicable law.

Your email address, if you have one, is securely held on our email servers – currently VentraIP – and on the secure electronic content management systems that we use.
